1.7 Next steps

There are still so many things that could be done. This project established base-level knowledge of aspects such as outliers and death rate, but there are many more avenues to explore. More complex models such as ARIMA or logisitc regression could give new insights into the data.

Improving the data set would open several new lines of analysis. We still don’t know whether there’s a link between queer characters being secondary and their tendency to get killed, and building race and/or orientation into a study would make it much more nuanced and accurate.

Lastly, it isn’t 2016 any more; a worthwhile project would be to update the data and examine what the impact of 2016’s death spike is going forward.
